Case Studies
A huge PAN-India Water Pump Manufacturer
CHALLENGE
One of the company’s largest VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe) Machines had a sudden failure due to breakdown of a pitch ballscrew measuring 63mm diameter vertical axis. The replacement from the original German supplier would take 3 months to deliver. This meant that the machine operation would come to a standstill for more than a quarter of the year and since it was the main component feeder for the rest of the plant operations, this would mean laying-off up to 350 employees. Further, this would directly cause a dent in company’s bottom-line and its brand.
SOLUTION
CNC Ballscrews technical team surveyed the damaged ballscrew and its housing case. Considering the urgency of the situation, the team worked non-stop and manufactured the new high-precision CNC ballscrew within just 9 hours. The CNC ballscrew was installed at the plant and the VTL Machine resumed its work within just 24 hours.
